Jesus is asking do you believe
Key Passage: Matthew 9:27
Date: June 7, 2024
Turn your Bible, as if we would, to Matthew chapter 9. Matthew chapter 9. I would love it if the Lord would increase our faith in our prayer life. It is the Lord hearing and answering our prayer, not that we are great prayer warriors, but we have a great God that hears prayers.
And that is my prayer for tonight. We are going to start Matthew 9 in verse number 27 tonight. Matthew 9 and verse number 27 in God’s Word tonight. Would you please stand if you are able, as we read God’s Word together, Matthew 9, verse number 27 of God’s Word.
By the way, have you seen those twins running around? Goodness gracious. They cannot believe how big they are getting to be. And just cute as a button. And just like boys. I was watching them. Every boy in the world. But they were back there by the track table and they were trying to touch everything on there. And Mama said, “No, no, no.” And I have had just like a boy. You know, it was just awesome, you know. Five seconds, they had that table oil torn up. I love it, man. It is just the way as a boy, you know, that is it. I love it. It was awesome. It was awesome.
Matthew 9, look at verse number 27, verse number 27. And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying and saying, “Thou Son of David, have mercy on us.”
When he was coming to the house, the blind men came to him. Jesus saith unto them, “Believe ye that I am able to do this?”
I want you to stop for a second. How many of you have a major prayer request in your life? You have got a major prayer. You want God to answer something. I want you to imagine you asking Jesus that, and Jesus coming to ask you after you have asked. And he says that right there: “Believe ye that I am able to do this.” Do you believe he is able to do it? Whatever it is in your life that you are asking. Do you believe that he is able to do that? That is what Jesus told these blind men. Wonderful what they said, and they said unto him, “Yea, Lord.” Then, after that, then, touched he their eyes, saying, “According to your faith, be it unto you.” And their eyes were opened, and Jesus straightly charged them, saying, “See that no man know it.” Now his time was not ready. And I mentioned this morning, even Jesus waiting in the patience of Christ. It has to do with that last statement there. But their eyes were open. They saw him.
But when they were crying out to Jesus, and Jesus comes in later on the house, and he says, “Believe ye that I am able to do this.” And I want you to ask yourself, and imagine maybe Jesus in your prayer closet saying, “Hey, do you believe? You believe I can do what you are asking tonight?” And so would you pray that the Lord would increase our faith tonight? Would you do that? Father, we come. Lord, we do ask, would you increase our faith? Father, forgive me sometimes. Too many times, Lord, I am just going through the motions, a ritual. Father, help me to come to you more often just in faith, believing. Hey, Lord, even expecting because there is such a good God and a gracious God. You hear and answer prayers. Increase our faith that you hear and answer tonight, Father. Lord, if you want me to say something different than I am going to plan, just guide. I want to do that. And Lord, maybe there is a story, illustration that will build our faith, use it all, encourage and build the faith of your people tonight in you. In Jesus’ name we ask, amen.
How do you remember back of the day in front of a lot of stores, specifically of grocery stores and whatnot, how to remember the little horse out there that you put the 25 cent, the quarter in there, and you can ride on? Anybody remember those mechanical horses? Yeah. I have never been. I have rode horses somewhat, but I was never a cowboy and all that. But I have heard tell that they do a fairly good job of mimicking how it feels to ride a horse. And it is amazing. You can get on that thing and it will go through the motions. It will take you up and down and back and forth a little bit. All the motions are there of riding a horse.
Well, the problem is when it gets done and you get off, you are still in the same spot. You did not go anywhere, you know. Now, I fear sometimes our prayer lives can be just like that. It is almost like we go through a ritual. We know what to say. I would have said. But we really do not expect to go anywhere and accomplish anything through our prayer life.
These men came to Jesus; they were praying, they were asking of Jesus, “Hey, would you have mercy on us?” Jesus, really, he just point-blank said, “Well, do you believe I am able to do this?” Are you asking in faith on this thing? Sometimes we believe in the faith of other great preachers and great men and great leaders of faith, and that is wonderful. I remember Kurt used to tell the story of John Rice. John Rice, what a great Christian he was. But he was getting up in years, but it was kind of like one of these old preachers, an old prophet type thing, and everybody just believed in—I think he was a great, great Christian. But he was getting older, and he was at a meeting—I believe it was a ladies’ meeting, if I remember right—and he had asked the ladies, “If you need to have an urgent answer to prayer, would you stand? We are going to pray over that thing.” Well, John Rice sometimes would lead ladies to pray and pray with them for a child and ask God to give you a child that you can raise for the Lord and whatnot. But he had said in this meeting, he said, “Now if you have just an urgent answer to prayer, you need to stand and we will pray over it.” And the lady stood, but he was getting older. His mind was starting to lose it just a little bit. And he started to pray that those ladies would have babies that were standing up out there. And they said, maybe you can hear ladies groaning, “Oh no, sitting down,” just dropping like flies. “Oh, I do not want that one right there,” you know. We believe sometimes in the prayers of great Christians. That is wonderful. But do you believe God answers your prayers? When you pray, are you praying believing that God can actually do what you are asking? Or is it just a ritual? Are we just going through the motions? I just going to give a lot of illustration. I would love it if God would really build our faith in your prayer. You know, it is not a matter of how good of a prayer warrior you are. God does not answer your prayers because of how good of a prayer you are. God answers your prayers because of how good of a God he is and because he honors his prayer promises.
God wants to hear your prayers, from the youngest one in here, teenagers in here, God wants to hear and answer your prayers, to the oldest person. God wants to hear and answer your prayers. Are you praying in faith? Cameron B. Thompson, a great preacher years gone by, he had three girls. One of his girls, little at the time, her name was Joy, and Joy wanted a certain doll. And back then, dolls do not cost what they cost nowadays, you know. And he found out how much does that doll cost? And it was $4.98. It sounded like a good deal in our day and time, you know. I mean, he found a brand new doll nowadays where that price is doing pretty good. But back then, you know, it was a lot. And so, little girl Joy, his little daughter, she said, “But Dad, how much is $4.98?” He said, “Well, that is $4.98 pennies.” So that little girl started praying at nighttime, “Lord, would you give me 498 pennies?” Well, lo and behold, a little while later, they had a knock on the door days later, and somebody came and said, “You know, we are just—the Lord has laid on my heart, we have this jug that we have been putting pennies in, and the Lord laid it on my heart to bring this to your preacher, and I want you to have this jug of pennies,” and just kind of laid it on my heart that we would give this jug of pennies to your daughter Joy." Just a girl.
Well, they took that jug in there, and they took it in the back room, you know, on the bed. They poured out all those pennies on the bed. And wouldn’t you believe it, there was 498 pennies in that jug. God answers the prayers of children. It is amazing to me that Hagar, when she was out there, and Abraham and Sarah had chased him away. And the Bible says Ishmael is over there—Hagar and Ishmael. And the Bible says the Lord heard the prayer of the lad. You know, God hears the prayers of children. I think little Christopher here and Elena there, and God hears even children’s prayers. He does. And God can answer your prayers.
That same preacher, Kevin B. Thompson, he had needed to travel—I think the preacher whatnot—and he did not have any money. And we are going to get a train, taking a train station back of the day. And I believe it was Atlanta. He was down that way. And he went at the train station there, and he went and he purchased a ticket. He was out in the booth getting the ticket. And the honest truth is, he did not have any money. And the man had said such and such money, and just such a man of faith, believed in God, and such a great proponent for his prayer. And he did not have any money for his prayer. And he did not have any money in his pocket. And about that time, someone was walking by and knew him. He said, “A preacher,” he grabbed it and said, “Preacher, let me get that for you.” Good thing you said, “Let me get that for you.” He could not buy it himself. He did not have any money in his pocket. There is a man of prayer. When God was hearing his prayer, he believed; he put faith in God that God can answer. Do you believe God can answer your prayers?
Look if you will over in James Chapter 5, if you would please. You will know these verses. James Chapter 5. Look at verse number 14 if you would please. James 5:14. All here tonight, amen? Good deal. The Bible there says, “Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church? And let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.” Watch this, watch this: “And the prayer of faith.” Oh, that is vital. The prayer of faith—is your prayer a prayer of faith? Do you pray, and is it just kind of, well, you know, we are just kind of going through and read to you to pray for other people to hear us whatnot? Are you praying in faith? And the prayer of faith, what it says, “Shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise them up. And if they have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.”
I will never forget years ago—I am not sure how many years ago, but my—oh, what would it be—my niece’s daughter? My great niece, is it? So you remember she had had brain cancer three times, and they just gave her a slight chance of it not coming back, and they were down in the area, and they wanted our church to pray. Some of you men were here, some of you ladies were here, and they wanted them. We got Sophie up here and went on her to all, and prayed for her. You know, that has been—I think Sophie is around 10 years old now, and she was maybe just a little—maybe two or three years old at the time. And the cancer had not come back. The doctors—the percentage was just so high that the cancer would come back.
Some of you remember Ms. Darlene back of the day, and she had some kind of major sinus infection. The doctors wanted to do surgery on her. Every day just going through headache, just continual headache. The doctor said the surgery is just too delicate. We do not want to do that because there is a chance that could be, honestly, major damage to your brain and whatnot, so we do not want to do it. But she just had continual headaches. And she called her, “Hey, can we, you know, can the men of the church pray and whatnot?” And we—same thing up over here. And we anointed her with oil. And the men all prayed over her. And she never took another aspirin, another Tylenol for her. And she said, “My headache was gone,” and never was a problem. You said, “Well, you know, that is what the faith healers do.” Well, we are not going to change the Bible because of what they do wrong. It is still a Bible method. I do not believe in that circus show, and you do not have to hit anybody over the forehead, but it is still a Bible practice, amen. And what we have seen God answer—I think about Brother Fontaine in the old building. We used to have Sunday morning prayer meetings before service started in my office. And he asked the men to pray for us back. And we got to finish praying. And he said, “Pastor, you will not believe it.” He said, “While we were praying, and one of the men were praying, he said, ‘I had a little burning in my back here,’ and he said, ‘You know, my back is just so much better.’” And it was. I am saying, God still heals. God still answers prayers. It may not be like they do on TV and all that, and fooey on that, but we still serve a God that is able to heal and do things. You still have a God that answers our prayers.
It is a good day when God’s people go to Him in prayer, believing in God. Do you just kind of ride on the horse and it goes through all the motions, your prayer life? And yet you get off in the same place? Or are you trying to go somewhere with the Lord in prayer? Do you believe in God that God is really hearing and answering your prayers?
Look over in Psalms 91. Psalm 91 tonight. And look, we will just start in verse number one. We believe it was Moses is the one that penned this Psalm. It is a wonderful, wonderful Psalm. And I want you to see the protection that he is talking about in this Psalm. It is a wonderful, wonderful Psalm. Psalm 91, verse number one right there. He says, “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High.” He is just dwelling. He is walking. He is abiding with God. “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” Wouldn’t it be wonderful to be under God’s shadow all the time? Man, he is always right there with you. You are just abiding under his shadow. I mean, God created a pretty big shadow, would not he, amen? Yeah. Look, and he just keeps going, and he says, “I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.” “Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler.” I mean, the hunter has got some traps out there, but God says the Lord delivered from that. “And from the noisome pestilence; he shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust. His truth shall be thy shield and buckler.” We had chickens for years. Sometimes we had babies, and, you know, those babies would get up underneath the mother hen’s wings, and sometimes you are going out in the morning to get the eggs and whatnot. Are those babies up underneath there? You have to kind of look and see. Mom does not like that, you know. And sure enough, those little bitty babies were up underneath, and the master of the Bible talks about we can go up underneath in the shadow of his wings. And you are protected there. God can protect his children. God is very capable of giving it.
You say, “Well, it is election year. It is going to get crazy this year.” That is all right. God can take care of you in an election year. Nothing new to God. God knows all about it. God can protect his children. I have told this story many times, but it was an amazing story when I was in Bible college in Northwest Indiana. Northwest Indiana is the steel belt. It used to be the steel industry of the United States—Gary, Indiana, all that, right, south of Chicago. Trains everywhere. If you are in a hurry, you will get stopped by a train in Northwest Indiana, promise you. And you will say praise all over when that happens. I mean, you know, especially if you are running late for class and you are getting demerits for that or whatever, you know, you are losing a grade in class, whatnot, over. Anyway, it is just part of it. And they often—they are on those trains, they will carry these huge steel coils. They have them sometimes on semis around here, but it is much smaller coils and specialized semi-trailers they carry them on. And I have seen some of those big steel coils on the back of flatbed semis, and sometimes you will see those semis just kind of bowing because of how much it weighs—just thousands and thousands of pounds—and they are just so heavy. And they would often put them up in Northwest Indiana on a train.
And, of course, they are traveling down the tracks, and they have many chains on them that kind of bind them to the train, to the car it is on. And one of the college students married, and they were driving a Jeep Cherokee back in the day, and they had pulled up to one of those trains that, you know, it had to stop and wait for the train to pass, and it had some of those steel coils, very, very heavy, on there. And…
They must not have had enough chains on there or whatnot. Some of those chains came loose, and I think broke some of those chains that had jarred a little bit. And when it did, that steel coil rolled off. And when it hit, it just literally hit and it bounced and it landed right on top of that Jeep Cherokee. Now, it was far enough back that it was not going to hit the people in the driver’s seat up front. There was a little child in a car seat in the back seat. And that steel coil would just crush that thing, just crush it, no problem at all. And yet when the police got there, they could not figure it out when they could finally get back there to where that child was. They said it was just amazing. The way they described it, they said it just looked and seemed like someone put their hand over that little child in that car seat. And that metal came down, but it never touched that child. Friend, that is the hand of God. God can protect your children. When you pray for God, “Would you protect my son, my daughter, or my grandchildren, whatnot?” Hey, we are serving and praying to an almighty God that can protect.
Friend, it is a powerful, almighty God. He can protect you. I think of a Christian that was working with a sodomite, and the sodomite being very vulgar and very sinful and giving the Christian a hard time. And finally, the Christian just kind of got fed up, and the Christian said, “Hey, you better be careful, I am a child of God.” Within 48 hours, that sodomite was gone in eternity. Friend, I am just saying, you serve a powerful God. He can protect his own. He can take care of you.
I think of the ministry of God’s man Spurgeon in 1854. They had pestilence going through and a plague going through it. And this story became a little bit more known during COVID whatnot than Spurgeon. It was much worse as far as just daily. He was going to funerals daily. He would get called out so many times, he said, in the middle of the night. He was still a bit of a smaller and younger preacher or whatnot. He was getting called out all the time, just going to deal with people as they were dying and preaching funerals almost daily. And he had preached at a funeral. He was heading back home, and he was just a little bit discouraged. He said, “Man, I am dealing with this all the time. There is just no way that I am going to go through all this, dealing with dead people all the time and going to the bedside, or that I am not going to get it.” He was just kind of like he was discouraged. And he thought, “Boy, surely I am going to get this thing.” And he was walking home, and he says, just by chance, he went by a shoe store. And he went by a shoe store. It was on Great Dover Road, he says. And he said, yes, just by chance, there was a sign in the window, and it was not a commercialized sign for the shoes. You could tell it was just a sign some of them made, but he says this. He said, it was in good, bold handwriting. This is what the words said: Psalm 91:9, “Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation: There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.” And Spurgeon said, boy, just his heart got filled with peace. And he knew God was going to take care of him. Friend, that does not matter what is going on. I do not know who knows. Many people say 2025 will be our next, you know, pandemic and all that. Hey, if it happens, friend, God will take care of you. He protects his own. But do you pray and do you believe? Do you go to God and say, “Hey, Lord, I am believing in you and I am asking these prayers in faith, trusting you to hear these prayers?”
You know, God is still saving souls, changing lives. Well, they are so stuck in their sin and they are so hard, and they are still changing lives. Look over in Psalms 126, a great passage here. Psalms 126. Psalm 126. Look in verse number six, if you would please. Psalms 126, verse number six. “He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.” I mention it often over the years, but when I am waiting for the burden, no, you just go, and then God gives the burden. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed—by the way, nothing more precious than the Word of God in the living Word, Jesus Christ—bearing precious seed, shall doubtless—I like that, without a doubt—shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him. That will be church, yes, but much more than that, being in heaven one day. And he is saying, if I keep going, and I get burdened over that and over people, and I am weeping over there, and I am bearing the precious seed, the Word of God and the gospel in Jesus Christ, he says, without a doubt, you will come again with rejoicing by bringing your sheaves. You will have people get saved. God is still saving souls in 2024. Do not think, “Well, people do not hear in the United States.” They are still here in the United States. They are still getting saved around you. God is still working in lives. I love the verse. You will probably know it is 2 Corinthians 5:17. Oh, let me see here. Let us look it up. Let us look it up. I am getting mixed up with another verse. Second Corinthians 5:17. I have got 21 wrote down in my notes, but look at verse number 17. Oh, and I am going to—I am just going to quote: “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. He is a new creature. Old things are passed away; behold, all things become new.” God is still changing lives. He is still changing lives, still making old sinners brand new.
I will never forget years ago, we had a youth director in L.A., Lower Alabama, amen. And we were taking the teenagers out soul winning, and I had a new boy with me. Stephen Newell was his name. And Stephen was a little bit, you know, well, we will see about this thing of soul winning and whatnot. And we went to a trailer park in Alabama, and we came to a trailer, and a guy was just pulling up in an old antique pickup truck, beautiful truck, you know. And…
And he pulled up and began to talk about the Lord. And then we asked him this question. We said, “Sir, if you were to die today, do you know for sure you go to heaven?” And that is what he said. He said, “You know, I have been wondering that same thing. I took my truck out, drove down the country, out in the country, asking God, ‘How can I go to heaven?’” Friend, it was not a coincidence when he pulled back in that driveway right there to tell them how to go to heaven. And God is still hearing prayers about souls, and people are still getting saved. Lives are still being changed. He can still answer prayers and change lives and save them from the uttermost. He can still do that. God is still doing that.
I remember years ago we had a young man come to church in another building, but it was over him on this side. And God just had it ordained. I never met him. I did not invite him to church; somebody else had. But he sat over here. And we preached on the mercy of God. He cried pretty much the whole service. I did not know a thing about him. Found out later on that this was the story of his life at that time of his life. He would go to work. When he got off work, he would stop by the liquor store, buy two bottles—I would have had hard liquor, I cannot remember exactly what it was, but it was hard liquor. He would come home, had two dogs—I met his dogs before—and he would feed his dogs, pet his dogs, and he would sit in his easy chair, he would just alone, two dogs by him, and they would drink until his feet went numb, and he would go to sleep, and he would wake up the next day and do the same thing. Yes, old. And he was a young man. Every day, same thing. Boy, God was doing a work in his heart. He heard about the mercy of God, and God just stirred him. The only problem was that week he did the same exact thing. Praise the Lord, he came back the next Sunday. I cannot remember what I preached, but God got a hold of his heart. And he prayed to ask the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved, and he settled that thing. And as far as I know, he has never touched the drop. And today he is married, has kids, and serves the Lord in the church, and God used him in great, great ways today. I am saying God is still changing lives like that. He can still make an alcoholic sober. He can still help people win over sins. He can still answer your prayers about your uncle or your aunt or your neighbor, your coworker. He can still—do not lose your faith that God can work in that sibling’s life and your mom’s life. And do not lose faith that God is—he is still hearing and answering prayers. Pray, pray in faith. I have a brother-in-law and his sister-in-law that are not saved. I am praying for them. I am praying for them. I am praying in faith, “God, I am just hanging on in faith. God, would you save them?” Are you praying in faith?
Years ago, Sunday morning, I believe it was, and we had preached on “How Big Is Your God?” And that lady came forward. She was on this side of the altar over here. She came forward, and her husband was not saved. Her husband was one of those hard cases. There had been times where she—her husband just had such turmoil over this thing, and he did not even want to go to church, and this is years before she came to church. And there were times that he threatened—I do not think he did, but he threatened to slice her tires because he did not want her to go to church and all, and on and on. And just wanted to stay away from him, but she was still in church. And it had been going on, I think, for 30 years, right, when she came to our church, part of our church. But she came forward that morning, just praying that God would save her husband. She believed God was big; he is able to hear her prayer. I have never heard anyone in church in all my life just moan and cry out loud like that lady did. I will never forget. She was down here. You could hear her all the way across the auditorium, just wailing. I remember a man, back where Brother Phillips is, somewhere along that part of the auditorium, and that grown man—he is a big fella—and I remember that man just having tears because this lady was just sobbing over her husband getting saved. I have never really experienced anything like it all my life, just sobbing uncontrollably loud for God to save her husband. And her husband, a little bit after that, he got small cell lung cancer. And…
Boy, just our church—I have mentioned this before—but our church bonded together to pray for her husband to get saved like I really have never seen our church. When we bought the property, our church really did good about bonding together in prayer, but just—it was just urgent. And I remember so many people saying, “Pastor, I cannot sleep at nighttime. I roll over in the middle of the night, and I am praying for Chuck to get saved.” And everybody was just burdened over Chuck getting saved. He had, you know, he was not listening to any preacher. I thought, “Well, I am going to go by and try to talk to him.” He would let me talk to him, but he would not get saved. But, boy, man, just praying over that thing. And I will never forget her praying like that. God was working in his heart. One night in the middle of the night, she woke up just in time to look over—and she is in bed—to look over and see her husband on his knees asking the Lord to save him. Man, Chuck got saved. He used to come before he passed. He would come to church. My wife always said about Chuck, “His countenance changed more than any person’s ever seen before and after.” You know what? Just his whole face looked different. He was saved. And, boy, till the time he passed away, he was a good testimony for the Lord. I would say, “Hey, are you praying God to save?” God can still save souls. Those hard cases, yeah, those hard cases. Nothing too hard for God, German? No, no, no, no, no. Nothing too hard for God.
Are you praying? I want you to think, when you ask God, “Would you do something about this prayer?” and “I ask you to do something about this situation,” would you just imagine Jesus coming and saying, “Hey, do you believe I am able?” Let us say, “Yea, Lord, I believe you.”
Would you bow your heads and close your eyes? Heads are bowed, our eyes are closed. I want to pray more in faith. Maybe here tonight you say, “Preacher, I do not want to go just through the motions. I do not want to just kind of do a ritual why I am supposed to have my prayer time. I want to go to God in faith, believing Almighty God in the universe hears and answers prayers.” God spoke to my heart. I want to pray in faith over these burdens of my life. God spoke to my heart about that. If I ask you that tonight, you slip in a prayer, I want to pray in faith about these things. “Oh, me too, me too, me too. I want to be a man or lady when Jesus says, ‘Do you believe?’” “Yes, Lord, yes, Lord, I believe.”
Maybe you are here tonight and you say, “Preacher, there is a specific thing, a specific situation, and I believe the Lord is leading me tonight. I am going to go in faith about that thing. And I am going to pray until either God changes my heart or he answers my prayer.” Just a specific thing. I am going to pray in faith. Either God hears and answers and says yes, or he changes my heart. A specific thing, I am going to pray about it. God is speaking to my heart about praying about that. If that is you, slip in a prayer about a specific thing. That is you. God bless you. God bless you. “Oh, it is good. Me too.” God bless you. God bless you. Would you please stand tonight? Would you please stand? We are going to have a word of prayer. Would you come spend some time? Just be obedient to the Lord as it touches your heart. Thank you, Father, that we get to come to you. Thank you, Jesus, you give us access. Thank you, Holy Spirit, to guide us. It is amazing how you have made it, Lord. We can go to you and get things through you. Increase our faith, Lord. Help us to not go through the motions, but believe, expect the mighty God of the universe to hear and answer our prayers. Bless our people tonight. Give us a vision, Lord, of being true prayer warriors and getting things from a mighty God. We will thank you, Lord, for what you do. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
Just seeing people down here praying where you are at praying, I believe God is so pleased with that. I mean, you know, 2024, and Christians just believe in God. We serve a mighty, mighty God. He is able. Do not let the devil get your faith; that is what he is trying to do. I want to go over to when Jesus went to Nazareth’s hometown over there, Mark 6, and he could there do no mighty work save just heal a few sick, laying hands on them, why? Because of their unbelief. Let us not get there. Let us keep believing in God. We serve a mighty, mighty God, and he is able. Let us just keep believing and trusting and believing God can hear and answer prayer.
Anybody just real quick, just to share an answer to prayer that might be an encouragement to everyone else to hear about—God answered prayer. Ms. Stacy. Amen. Amen. Praise the Lord. Brother Marlon is doing something around here all the time for the Lord, just all the time. Amen. Amen. Real quick, Brother Patterson. Pray for that dog house. And the guy came over and gave us this dog house. My uncle said, “I prayed for that.” And it struck me. I had no idea that I had prayed for that dog house. And I remember the neighbor man then we left and said, “Oh, that is why I could not sell.” Okay. I said, “I am going to make another.” I said, “Do not you pray for it.” Amen. Amen. Real quick. Yes, sir. Brother Garrett. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Somebody else’s hand up over here. Yes, your brother, one. Amen. Amen. Got a great godly man in the back back there. Amen. Amen. That is awesome. Amen. Ms. Jennifer. And then two weeks later, and I came in, and I could not find him. And they said that he actually passed away. So it was just—that was an answer to prayer. But it was interesting how the word led me that one night. That was—he just said, “Okay, now I need you to go to this one place. I need to talk to this man.” And it is just, again, a blessing. Maybe. It is awesome. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Great. Great to remember these things. God answering prayers. Awesome. Brother Josh. Amen. Amen. Amen. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Praise the Lord. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Real quick, Brother Tim. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. And now we will get the last one in? We want to let Brother Tim have that one on there. We do not want to leave them all out of that one. That is a good one. Amen. Amen. Glad you are here tonight. Let us just pray this week in faith, believing God. We serve a mighty God, and we are asking in faith this weekend prayer. Good to have you out Sunday night. Glad you are here. Love you. And thank God for you. Praise the Lord for you.
